Port Macquarie offers lots of things to do such as touring historic sites, vineyards and attending exhibitions. Moreover, it provides marketplaces that you can go and purchase fresh supplies for your kitchen and also get to buy handmade jewellery. Here are the numerous markets in Port Macquarie.

Real Food Local Produce Markets

Real food markets are located in the port central glasshouse forecourt and are open every Tuesday from 2pm. Come and fill up your shopping baskets with beautiful organic and local seafood, pork, vegetables, fruits and gourmet goodness offered by local farmers.

Port Macquarie Art Society Market Bazaar

Port Macquarie Art Society Market Bazaar is held every Sunday. It is held at Hamilton house, 198 Hastings River Drive. This is a chance to purchase vegetables and fruits, cakes, baby clothes, eggs, assorted tools, second-hand books and an array of locally made arts and crafts.

Wauchope Community Markets and Arts Bazaar

The market is conducted every Saturday of each month at the Wauchope Uniting Church. The local farmers in the market stalls offer vegetables, fruits, plants, crafts and bric-a-brac.

Uniting Church Markets

The market is open on the first Saturday of each month. You will be able to experience several fantastic homemade products including candles, vegetables, knick-knacks, honey, books, refreshments, soap and handmade cards.

Grown and Gathered Pappinbarra Community Market

The market is located at Hollisdale hall in Pappinbarra road. It is held on every first Sunday of the month. Some of the products available in the community market include beeswax cloths, handcrafted jewellery, locally produced timber goods, bread and pastries, recycled clothing and handmade chocolates.

Kendall Showground Markets

The market is held at Kendall Showground in Batar Creek Road every first Sunday of the month. The market attracts producers and artisan from around the region to sell their local produce, preserves, flowers, arts and crafts and many more.

The Foreshore Market

Local artists and artisans showcase their talents on market days on every second Saturday of the month at Westport Park. Exclusive handmade arts and crafts highlight the market day with an assorted mix of other stalls from gourmet foods, vintage clothing, flowers, locally grown produce, handmade jewellery and clothing.

Johns River Country Markets

The market is held at Johns River Community Hall and Recreation Reserve on the second Saturday of the month. Additional markets days are conducted on the Monday of the long weekends in January, Easter, June and October. The merchandises on sale include homemade items, old wares, food, tea and coffee.

Kundabung Hall Poultry and Farmers' Markets

The farmers' market is held on every second Sunday of the month at River Road in Kundabung. The market has a fundraising stall that sells toasted sandwiches and donated goods.

St James Cottage Craft

The market is conducted on every third Saturday at Byabarra. The commodities on sale include local arts and crafts such as cards, toys, jewellery, timber products, knitting and much more.

Laurieton Riverwalk Market

The market is held at the Bruce Porter Reserve on Tunis Street every third Sunday of the month. The products for sale at the market include a wide range of fresh produce, clothes, fashion, plants, candles, gourmet food and a wide variety of toys.

Wauchope Farmers' Markets

Conducted at Wauchope Showground on the fourth Saturday of each month, Wauchope Farmers' Market offers a wide range of farm produce to serve communities close and far with milk, potatoes, cheese, pork, macadamia and many more.

The Artist Markets

The Artist Market is conducted on every fourth Sunday of each month at the Maritime Museum. The market brings together local artisans and artists to showcase locally grown, baked or made, farm produce and exceptional food products.

Port Macquarie celebrates its artists in a variety of ways. It has galleries, art trails, and hosts art exhibitions as some of the ways of celebrating its artists. You will see beautiful sculptures and captivating artworks while having a drink of some old beer. Here are few places you can visit to see how Port Macquarie celebrates its local artists.

Hello Koala Sculpture Trail

If you go across the Port Macquarie Hastings area - you can get a fantastic view of Koala statues scattered in the space. The artist trail project won Gold at the NSW Tourism awards of 2017. It also featured in the 2018 Australian Tourism Finals in February representing NSW. The sculpture trail is much acclaimed as Trip Advisor ranks it third amongst the list of things to do when in Macquarie. There are 12 Koala statues right in the middle of town, and 19 others a few minutes' drive away from the city centre.

Long Point Vineyard and Gallery

A few minutes from the Port is Long Point. Here, there is an art gallery with a beautiful collection of art made by local artists as well as sculptures that are permanently placed outdoors. This art gallery is a must visit. Here there is also a charming vineyard, where you can indulge in excellent wines and spirits.

Arthouse Industries

Glass studio features appealing artwork, clothing and handmade gifts. Here you can go for workshops as well as attend Lampwork glass demonstrations. In this industry, you will find an award-winning glass artist, Skye, who makes jewellery. She demonstrates from the studio how she moulds molten glass to create her wearable pieces. You can indulge your creative self here.

Glasshouse Regional Gallery

This is an art gallery at Port Macquarie which is the regional creative premier hub for culture, and the arts. An art exhibition at the gallery features sculptural, design, historical, traditional, indigenous, and contemporary pieces. There is no fee charged to go into the gallery.

Stitched 'n' Framed

This is the biggest patchwork shop in Port Macquarie. Fabrics can be purchased at the store or online. The staff at the store have years of experience doing patchwork. They mainly deal with modern, pretty and reproduction patchwork. They are the most recent Quilt Guild of Port Macquarie. They have a dealership for Handy Quilter, Baby Lock, Janome and Bernina machines. Famous and visiting tutors hold social sewing groups and classes in two workshop areas at the shop. When you are in Port Macquarie, be sure to indulge in the art available in the area.
