Sails Port Macquarie by Rydges has recently finished their incredible renovations and The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant is now open!

The restaurant has without a doubt, some of the best waterfront views in Port Macquarie! Visitors to the restaurant will love the fresh, sophisticated dining options as they overlook the bay and the yachts in the Port Macquarie Marina.

The resort and restaurant have been renovated in a Hamptons style design which is further complemented by the stunning, lush landscaping throughout the grounds.

The combination of the stylish design and luxurious, coastal decor, with the beautiful tropical gardens and unbeatable water views, truly makes Sails Resort and The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant, Port Macquarie's hottest new dining venue.

The menus are fresh, unique and enticing, showcasing wonderful local produce, regional wines and a very talented chef and kitchen team!

During our recent stay at the hotel, we experienced The Boathouse's two breakfast options and hope that it'll help you decide to book your next dining experience at Sails!

Hotel guests and locals alike can enjoy a buffet breakfast at The Boathouse from 6:30 to 9:30am daily.

The buffet breakfast is extensive and you are guaranteed not to leave hungry with the wide variety of delicious, fresh food on offer. Those who love a traditional hot breakfast will be very happy with the piping hot bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled eggs and hash browns that are available.

In addition to the buffet, The Boathouse also offers an à la carte breakfast on weekends from 7 until 11am. The à la carte menu has something for everyone and the hardest part of your morning will be choosing what to order! The delicious range of dishes on offer include a gourmet Bacon & Egg Roll, a Big or Light cooked Breakfast, Smoked Salmon with Smashed Avocado, Bircher Muesli, Plantaine Hotcakes and a number of other tantalising dishes.

We opted for the Green Eggs and Ham, a playful dish which included toasted sourdough topped with green pea smashed avocado, double smoked apple-wood ham, hollandaise verdé, house ricotta and free range poached eggs. The dish was very generous in size and was packed full of flavours that complemented each other perfectly. Each ingredient in the dish was prepared and cooked to perfection and the eggs were some of the best poached eggs that we've enjoyed in a long time.

It was a tough choice between a number of other items on the breakfast menu for our second dish, but we chose the Beetroot and Pea Fritter. The fritters were served with a poached egg, beetroot relish, fetta and dill yoghurt. The pea fritters were wonderfully light and fluffy and paired perfectly with the sweetness of the beetroot relish, the saltiness of the fetta and the creaminess of the dill yogurt, topped off with a perfectly poached egg. It was a beautiful dish, both on presentation and flavour and one that we would definitely order again!

The staff at The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant were lovely, attentive and it was evident they truly enjoy their jobs as it reflects through the service. We'd highly recommend breakfast (or any other meal or simply drinks) at The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant and will certainly return ourselves quite regularly!
